Owner / Managing Partner

Gerilee Shinn

Gerilee Shinn is an Owner/Managing Partner of Highway Specialty Company Inc. She oversees daily operations and planning, guides HSC growth and personnel development. Prior to starting HSC, Gerilee spent over 20 years as an independent business owner.

She is a long-time community volunteer and is currently active in local Enterprise Lions Club.A happy wife of 33 years. She enjoys spending time with her 3 grown sons and 2 teenage grandchildren, as well as gardening and remodeling her 1957 river house.
Operations

Dustan Currier

Dustan Currier began his career in traffic control in 1999 as a flagger working on a Highway 395 rehabilitation project. With a desire to lead, Dustan worked his way up from Flagger to General Superintendent with a large traffic safety company. In 2011 he took a leap and partnered with Gerilee Shinn to become the Traffic Safety Supervisor for Highway Specialty Co. Inc. In Dustan’s time away from work you will find him hunting or fishing with his two children, or lost somewhere in his home state of Alaska.
Sales & Rentals

Jim Maasen

Say hello to Jim Maasen, Jim Maasen was born and raised here in Redding, California. He began his career working for a small structural engineer and then moved on to build structural bridges for the state of California. With aspirations of running his own crew, Jim worked his way up the ladder with promonate contractors traveling all over the Northern state. In 2014, Jim became part of the Highway Specialty family by running the Traffic schedules and crews and managing Sales. In his spare time, Jim enjoys coaching for the local junior basketball teams and crew chief’s for his sons outlaw Karts racing team.
Guardrail

Matt Marriott

Growing up around the construction industry, Matt started his career after attending northern California colleges. His experience quickly grew working for a small northern California company specializing in guardrail. Over the past decade, he has been a part of numerous Caltrans, Federal and small agencies projects throughout California and Nevada. Matt joined the HSC team in 2016 and now handles our estimating and project management. He might be the youngest member but he keeps the boys inline, frequently referred to as Grandpa in the office and field. When Matt is not at work you will find him out riding dirt bikes, camping and enjoying our beautiful lakes with his wife and two children.
Controller

Sandra Gigliello

Sandra Gigliello is the Office Manager for Highway Specialty. She has worked long-term in the construction industry with extensive knowledge in accounting. Her experience ranges from roofing to general contracting and now she has landed with a traffic control contractor. She loves working for the smaller family-owned businesses which construction provides. Her accounting background was learned at both College of San Mateo and Canada College in the Bay Area. In her time off, you can find Sandra relaxing on Lake Shasta or taking a drive with friends from a car club.
Office Manager

Heather Frick

Meet Heather Frick, one of our office assistants. Heather has been with the company since its inception in May of 2011. Heather started out at Highway Specialty Company handling all the paperwork that crossed our desks. Over the years, Heather’s job responsibilities have varied, but today, her primary responsibilities are payroll, maintaining equipment and employee accident records, implementing the organization of the office, and staff support. Heather’s positive attitude and friendly face are a welcoming site when you visit our office. Heather has been married to her husband for 17 years and they have two children, Garrett and Maddy, who keep them busy in their “free time”.
